Community :
The Muse Agency CIC is committed to working in partnership with schools, local organisations, artists and creatives- please get in touch to find out more or share your ideas, below are some collaborations to date….
Local arts and cultural organisations
All though early days for The Muse Agency as a CIC, it has grown out of a catalogue of work undertaken by it’s founder members and the team of local artists, musicians, local residents and organisations that surround it. Past collaborations from this formative time include Imeplo, Y Gaer, Brecon Frazz Parade, Theatr Brychieniog, Brecon Buzz, Brecon Cathedral, Brecnock Art Trust.
Programmes at The Muse
As an organisation we are based at The Muse, Brecon (first floor office) The Muse is an independently run arts and community venue in Brecon, run by one of the co-founders of The Muse Agency, Ruth Gibbs. It is home to a wide variety of community groups and events including a lively music scene. Current financial pressures make supporting arts and music events for the area a priority. Gaining funding to push the boundaries of programming and helping enable original evenings such as the recent “Did you look for me?” exhibition and Exquisite Lettuce night, both curated by local artists from the Brecon area is an ongoing ambition of The Muse Agency.
Schools and Education
The team behind The Muse Agency CIC is hugely experienced at developing projects within Curriculum for Wales and has worked in local schools with teachers, pupils, and artists to create new art work and present it in the wider community.
Brecon Festival Scene
The festival offer in Brecon provides a rhythm for the year in the local area, from Brecon Womens Festival in March, through Brecon Choir Festival and Brecon Jazz and Fringe Festival in the summer to the Brecon Baroque Festival in the autumn. These events create is a wealth of opportunity to provide arts and cultural activities to broad audiences. We are thrilled to be working with The Brecon Choir Festival for 2025, and to be tying into the Women’s Festival through the Gwenllian Morgan project. As well as maintaining our connections to the Brecon Frazz Parade held on the Brecon Jazz weekend in August.
